Wesmac Refit

In March-May 2012 Wesmac completed an extensive refit that included the following:

• Installed fishing gear including 12 LD Marine swivel base rod holders; four Tigress side mount rod holders; overhead aluminum bar by Kent fabrication with 12 rod holders; LD Marine top mounted 19’ outriggers and 13’ center rigger; 40 gallon live well with Rule 1,600 Tournament pump, sea strainer and seacock; Jabsco high pressure salt water wash down system; bait prep/tackle station with cutting board, sink and locking cabinet with drawers.
• Installed new Raymarine electronics including C120W chart plotter at lower helm; C90W chart plotter at upper helm; 48” Super HD radar array; DSM 300 sounder/fish finder; 1,000W depth/temp transducer; Raystar 124 GPS sensor; Ray 218 VHF at lower helm with DSC, auto fog signals and loud hailer; Ray 55 VHF at lower helm with DSC; Ray 55 VHF at upper helm with DSC; Ray 55 VHF under cockpit overhang with DSC; two 14’ Galaxy VHF antennas mounted on fly bridge port and starboard; two 8’ VHF antennas mounted on radar mast spreaders; and Jensen CD/Sirius with Sirius satellite antenna and two speakers in wheel house and two in cockpit.  Note:  Previous Northstar Loran units were removed, but Raymarine RL80 chart plotter, Furuno GPS/WASS Navigator (fully redundant), 600W transducer, and Simrad AP28 autopilots were retained.
• Mechanical and electrical work including Cat Level 1 (200 hours) and Level 2 (3,000 hours or two years) service by Billings Diesel with new belts, after cooler, starter and alternator; removal and inspection of shaft and re-machining to 2/1,000s tolerance with new cutlass bearings and stuffing box serviced; prop reconditioned by Accutech; ZF trolling valve hooked up to lower helm controls; installed Reverso oil change system; four new 8D batteries and new Group 27 genset battery; zincs replaced; new SS fittings installed on steering gear.
• Interior upgrades including new molded L shaped settee; new cushions throughout; mahogany trim sanded and three coats of varnish; new mahogany wire chase under mast and radio cabinet above lower helm; overhead SS hand rail in wheel house; and SS grab rails at exterior sliding door and companionway steps.
• Exterior upgrades including new SS port lights in cabin trunk sides; SS transom corner guards; SS supports for anchor platform; new Nicro day/night vents in galley and head; new tuna door hinges; shorten original cruising bow rails; re-bedding anchor platform, bow chocks, bow bit and foredeck hatch and port lights; and compound and wax superstructure.
• Safety gear including new six man Revere Offshore Commander raft in cradle with hydrostatic release mounted on roof; and new ACR Category 1 Globalfix 406 EPIRB with GPS.
